Today I finally dared to strip out all the material from the web hotel's server (I downleaded a complete copy to my own computer first, and I've also, separately downloaded all the blog entries I've made At The Quill and in the Commonplace Book since December 2008. I'm going to try to install a Wordpress database. Heart-in-mouth-time.
Just a quick note that my visitor score as of today stands at 4352 since 2nd Dec 2008.
9th March
I have really let things slip. So many other things to do, such poor organisation. At least today I have managed to close down the site for maintenance. In the background I'm trying to reinvent the site with Wordpress. Hopeing for a grand opening in the spring - which seems at present lie it may never come. (Ice, snow and biting wind.)
2nd January
The visitors' counter on my front page today reads 3631, so I've had over 1000 visitors in December. Very satisfactory. I shall look at the stats a little more closely later. Today's visit is primarily to upgrade the Web Log with an archive page (for 2009). This site's ranking at Alexa.com is 23,348,355 and I've moved up 647,649 places since the beginning of December! (Well, OK, Alexa says "over a 3 month period", but the increase in traffic has been over December.)
I can also record that I have spent some time today trying to create a page for myself at The Written Word. |
